It is now official; the winner of the Kettle Trophy will either be Niall or John.  The others can't catch Niall and the only one who can is John - but here is his problem: he is playing Brian Fleming in the last game of the first half for them both.

Suddenly, Dave Munro has crept into the frame as the nearest challenger to John for second place and the Harlaw Cup.  Dave plays Jenny Barr in their last game, but not until 21 December.  That game will either be all-important, or meaningless - it all depends on the Brian v John game the previous week.  In theory, Jenny could still catch John but she is 5 ends behind, so he is relatively safe from her.  Robin and Brian are now out the frame altogether - they are respectively seven and eight ends behind.  Virgin birth, flying pigs, resurrection and the old Canaan trick all rolled into one and it still ain't happening!
