Well - there have been some questions answered!

First of all, the sheriff's goose is sadly, from his perspective, cooked.  He needed Susan to beat John Steven to have any chance of overhauling him and that didn't happen.  Realistically, Jenny really needed a different result in that game as well.  She is too many ends behind John to catch him, I fear, from her perspective.  Even if she wins both her games, something catastrophic will need to have happened to John in his last game and something miraculous to her.  If you catch my drift.

We're talking immaculate conceptions here, by the way; this isn't just your "run-of-the-mill Canaanite water into wine" stuff, I am afraid.

Niall is now safe from all but John and (very unlikely on the ends count) Robin.  I will eat my hat if he does not secure at least the Harlaw Cup after the big win he had over a Brianless Fleming.

John looks pretty safe as well from Brian.  Robin still has a vague chance of overhauling him, but results need to go in his favour (he wins both his games and hopes that John loses or draws his last one).  Again, he's miles behind on ends.

Prediction time: Niall and co for the Kettle and John Steven for the Harlaw Trophy.

Bah humbug!
